CREASE MECHANICS WITH THE GOALIE PAD
After a minor setback with alignment issues on the hockey prosthesis, this first day of coaching with Laura was truly the first real test of how the new prosthesis would fare in net during more demanding on ice sessions.
I love crease mechanics drills as they are the foundational movements that allow goalies to stop pucks using higher percentage “good” saves. The leg held up well, but a few minor tweaks to its alignment are still needed.
One test for me is going to be stopping, pivoting, and pushing off via my right foot as the new prosthesis is built to withstand those forces.
